Approach to Therapy

Dr. Kannan utilizes an integrative, emotion focused, and evidence-based approach in therapy.

She believes that “The most significant outcome of taking care of our mental health over time, is growth. Growth comes from realizing the need to resolve that feeling of tension or being stuck when we are faced with difficult or painful experiences in our lives, that can cause anxiety, stress, grief, a feeling of being out of balance, and more.

Therapy helps us journey through these difficult moments through self-awareness and understanding, where we can experience a shift in how we relate to ourselves, our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and our relationships. Therapy can provide the scaffolding needed to get moving on a path of self-determination, balance, and wellness.”
